I am not the most practical of builders, nor are my house layouts anything more than a few boxy structures piled together. Still I have fun when I make a house and I try to look at all the possibilities that can make a house more real - personal touches with various scattered personal artifacts, all thanks to the object creators. A hairbrush here, a baseball there. What I'm talking about is trying to give a house some personality.

Here's a small city house that is supposed to look like it would belong on any busy street of Japan. Hopefully more to come from this same hypothetical street. ;)

nevermind the sim; he likes to sleepwalk / act generally creepy after dark.

upstairs..

and there he goes again.

P.S: Shout-out to Sandy and Isi, who indulged me in my Sims 1 pictures, encouraged me to take more, and are generally wonderful people to know. :)

I think  I'm slightly hooked onto TS1 again... is that weird? Somehow, its wonderful - the game's insanely fast on this laptop, no lags or choppy graphics. Plus, I've always felt that of all three games, objects look way better in Sims 1 than in either Sims 2 or 3. So crisp and detailed, does it have to do with them not being composed not of polygons but images?
In any case, I love the oldschool feeling it gives; simple because it does not have so many of the additional features added onto each subsequent game. I say this in a good way. Seriously, its a breeze to play this game. (Though I must admit I miss my dynamic-rotation style camera).

Messing around with the downloads that I do have (considering the giant hole left in the wake of 'dead' sites), I made this building, set on the same lot, but a little distance apart from the house of this sim. If you like it, comment on this post, and I'll finish the house to share that as well.

Sign of life! After a really long time I found myself to be free these last few days - so, on a whim, I installed Sims 1 on my laptop. One download spree (oh where have all my favorite ts1 creators gone?!) and an hour spent in-game later, I present to you my first slipshod house (minus bathroom) in a while.

Genius or no genius, he clearly has a drinking problem..

I'm sorry about the lack of downloads, as well as general updates. But this is proof that I do post when I get the time to resurface and breathe. However, I have not played the Sims 2 in... forever, so I won't promise any downloads right now.
Make do with the affection pseudo-oozing from my heart to yours. That and irregular* posts on life and other pretty things.
